Monett,MO : 2 injured in pair of Butterfield wrecks on January, Tuesday 30th 2018
Two people were injured in a pair of wrecks on on Tuesday at 5:15 and 5:16 a.m. on Highway 37 in Butterfield.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, Genove Avalos, 27, of Springfield, was driving a 2008 Toyota Corolla southbound when her vehicle struck the rear of a 2015 Western Star 4500 truck that had slowed to make a left turn, driven by Sammy McElroy, 58, of Brighton. One minute later, a 1985 GMC Safari van, being driven by Jason Goff, 45, of Monett, struck Avalos' vehicle while it was facing eastbound in the southbound lane following the first wreck.
Avalos and Goff each suffered moderate injuries. Both were transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. McElroy was not injured.
All involved were wearing safety devices. The Corolla and Safari were totaled, and the Western Star truck sustained moderate damage.
