Morgan County, IN : Four people killed in vehicle crash State Road 37 on Wednesday December 30 2015

Four people were killed in a crash Wednesday night that closed State Road 37 in both directions between Perry & Big Bend roads in the Waverly area.
A Ford Taurus sedan crossed the median, according to investigators, and hit a minivan. The Taurus had five occupants described by State Police as "young people." Four were killed; the fifth was taken to the hospital for treatment.
It is devastating," said State Police Sgt. Curt Durnil. "It's absolutely tragic that we have to make that notification tonight. You know any time of the year is awful around Christmas and new year absolutely horrific for the families. It's tough on these troopers out here that were here as well but our prayers and thoughts are with the families right now these victims."
The minivan carried a family of four, all of whom were wearing seat belts. All four were also taken to the hospital, but none of their injuries were described as serious.
The area is expected to remain closed for a "lengthy" investigation. Authorities recommend drivers take State Road 67 as an alternate route.
