Terrebonne Parish ,LA : Driver dead after crash into Terrebonne Parish canal on Monday ,June 29th 2015

A 30-year-old man is dead following a crash in Montegut, Louisiana.

Marvin Naquin, of Chauvin, was killed Monday night following the crash. The accident happened around 7 p.m. on LA 665 in the Pointe Aux Chenes community.

Naquin's vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and entered a small canal, according to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office. The car rolled onto its roof and became partially submerged.

Officers say Naquin was not wearing his seat belt. He was transported to Chabert Medical Center where his later died from his injuries.

Impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash, deputies say. Routine toxicology tests are pending.

This crash remains under investigation.
