Ohio 63 shut down after fatal crash near Monroe
An 18-year-old female was killed and six people were injured in a head-on crash that shut down Ohio 63 for several hours Thursday night.Kelsie Barger, 18, of Fairfield, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened shortly after 6 p.m. near the Lebanon Correctional Institution.Barger was alone in a 2005 Hyundai headed east on the state route when she went left of center and collided with a westbound 2011 GMC sport utility vehicle driven by 51-year-old Jose Lugo, of Lebanon.Turtlecreek Twp. medics transported Lugo, and the five other occupants in his vehicle to Atrium Medical Center. They all suffered injuries not considered life-threatening, according to OHP.The crash remains under investigation.Ohio 63 was shut down between Union Road and Ohio 741 for almost three hours.
