A 34-year-old man from Plains died in a head-on car crash on Highway 93 just south of Arlee on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the wreck was reported at about 4:25 p.m. on Wednesday in Lake County. The victim was driving a Subaru Legacy northbound when he veered into the southbound lane and struck a Toyota Tundra driven by a 50-year-old male almost head-on.
The driver of the Subaru was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the second vehicle was injured and transported to a local hospital. Both men were wearing seat belts, and alcohol, drugs and speed are not considered factors.
The crash is still under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol. The victim's name has not been released.
