Pompano Beach. ,FL : Woman crashes car into own home in Pompano Beach on Friday afternoon ,july 3rd 2015

The Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating after a 72-year-old woman accidentally drove her car into her own home in Pompano Beach.

The crash was reported about 12:15 p.m. Friday at 725 NW 15th Court.

According to BSO spokeswoman Gina Carter, Margaret Peterson was returning home from shopping when she accidentally crashed her car into her house.

Neighbors said they heard a loud crash and came out to see what happened.

"They're elderly," one neighbor told Local 10 News reporter Jenise Fernandez. "I think she thought she had it in park, but it was still in drive."

No injuries were reported, and Carter said Peterson will not face charges.

The family is waiting for an inspector to determine the extent of the damage to the home.
