Five injured in crash on eastbound I-70

A morning injury accident on I-70 just east of Cave Springs Road slowed traffic on both the interstate and along Veterans Memorial Parkway. The crash happened around 8:00am Saturday in the eastbound lanes. Veterans Memorial Parkway was shut down for a time while the scene was cleared.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says that five people were transported to an area hospital for treatment. The victims’ conditions are unknown, but their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
