BRUNSWICK, ME : Woman killed in I-295 crash in Brunswick on Wednesday, September 27th 2017

A woman was killed Thursday night after her car hit a bridge column along Interstate 295 in Brunswick, according to Maine State Police.

Troopers said 76-year-old Therese Cyr, of Auburn, was driving in the wrong direction in the northbound lanes when her car traveled into the median and hit the abutment.

The crash was reported around 7:30 p.m.

Police shut down the northbound lanes near the crash site and a LifeFlight helicopter landed on the road, but Cyr died on scene.
