Houston, TX : A motorcyclist is in critical condition after he was hit by a car on Wednesday, August 9, 2017

A motorcyclist is in critical condition after he was hit by a car early Wednesday on Interstate 69.
The collision happened about 3 a.m. on the outbound lanes of I-69, also called U.S. 59 in Houston, at Wilcrest, said Lt. Larry Crowson with the Houston Police Department.
The motorcyclist - described by police only as a man - was taken by Life Flight to an area hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the car that hit him fled the scene.
Police did not immediately release a description of the driver or his car.
