CADYVILLE, NY : Cadyville crash leaves Saranac Lake man in critical condition on Route 3 on Wednesday, 18th July 2018

A Saranac Lake man is in critical condition after his vehicle veered off the road, crashed into an earth embankment, flew through the air and then struck a tree.

Richard A. Trudeau, 85, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet SUV northeast on Route 3 around 10:52 a.m. Wednesday when the vehicle drifted into the oncoming lane and continued off the northwest shoulder near 3048 Route 3, not far from Campbell Way, State Police Troop B Public Information Officer Trooper Jennifer Fleishman said.

The vehicle traveled down an embankment, struck another earth embankment and then the tree before coming to rest next to a tributary to the Saranac River, Fleishman said.
