DUMFRIES, VA : Dumfries Virginia man dead after hit-and-run involving his own stolen car on Saturday, 20th July 2024

A Dumfries man died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in his own stolen car in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Saturday, July 20, according to Prince William County police.

Officers responded to the Oasis at Montclair Apartment complex in the 16400 block of Stedham Circle around 6:53 p.m. for a reported hit-and-run.

A preliminary investigation revealed a man was outside of his SUV when he was approached by a person, according to officials. The man was later identified as Jose Vasquez Galvan, 37, of Dumfries, officials said.
