A woman was injured Wednesday evening after her car careened into the ditch while attempting to pass another vehicle near Cannon Falls.

Amanda Stewart, 37, of Hanover, was traveling southbound on Minnesota Highway 56 around 5 p.m. just west of Cannon Falls when the accident occurred. She had just passed a vehicle on the two-lane road when she overcorrected and lost control, according to the Minnesota State Patrol incident report.

Stewart suffered non-life threatening injuries. She was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System, Cannon Falls for treatment.

The Cannon Falls Police Department and Goodhue County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
