Chesterfield County, VA: Driver of semi that spilled dry ice had suspended license on Wednesday, July 29th 2015

All lanes of Interstate 95 are back open after a tractor trailer crash blocked northbound lanes earlier Wednesday, spilling dry ice onto the road.The crash happened shortly before 11:30 a.m., south of Route 288, just past the exit to Route 10 (mile marker 61). The driver, 33-year-old Brian M. Whitfield of Petersburg, was taken to Chippenham Hospital along with a passenger, both with non-life threatening injuries.Virginia State Police say both were wearing their seatbelts at the time.The driver was transported to Chippenham Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.According to police, the truck was hauling 30,000 to 35,000 pounds of dry ice from Hopewell to Harrisonburg.No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
