ST. AUGUSTINE, FL : 2 people killed in head-on crash on State Road 16 in St. Johns County on Saturday, 24th February 2024

Two people died in a head-on crash Saturday morning on State Road 16, east of San Giacomo Road, in St. Johns County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to the FHP report, a 20-year-old man from St. Augustine was traveling eastbound on SR 16 when, for some reason, he traveled into the westbound lane and collided head-on with an SUV traveling in that direction.

The 20-year-old driver died at the scene. He was the only occupant of that car, according to the report.
