EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA : Driver charged following deadly crash in EBR Parish on Saturday, 7th September 2024

A driver has been charged following a crash that left one person dead and two injured Saturday afternoon, September 7, according to Louisiana State Police.

The multi-vehicle crash happened around 2 p.m. on Highland Road near I-10 in East Baton Rouge Parish.

The driver, Wayne J. Green, 76, was one of the people injured in the crash, troopers said. They added that once he is released from the hospital, he will be booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of negligent homicide and negligent injuring.

According to LSP, Green was driving west on I-10 in a Toyota Highlander, exited on the I-10 off-ramp, and then crashed into the passenger side of an Acura RDX. The Acura RDX was pushed across the median and ended up in a ditch, troopers said. They added that Green’s vehicle also hit a Ford Raptor, and debris from the crash struck a Hyundai Tucson.
