Las Vegas, NV : Driver arrested after pedestrian critically injured after a crash early sunday morning, Aug 9, 2015
Police have arrested a man on suspicion of driving under the influence after a crash that left a pedestrian critically injured.
Las Vegas police say that it appears the 61-year-old driver had a green light when he struck the man, but he failed field sobriety tests and was arrested early Sunday morning.
It wasn't immediately clear if driver Merle Rahl II had a lawyer on Sunday.
Investigators say that 31-year-old Lester Galdamez-Ostorga was walking against the light at the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and South Decatur Boulevard when he was struck by a pickup truck and thrown to the ground.
He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
