Allentown,PA : Power outage after crash in Allentown on April, thursday 27th 2017
A midnight crash along South Fourth Street in Allentown knocked out power to nearly 100 PP&L customers, according to the power company.
Police Capt. Bill Lake said a box truck collided with three utility poles on South Fourth Street near Normandy Street and then fled. Lake said the box truck was located a short time later, but the driver was not with it.
Residents said they lost power at some point before 3 a.m. According to PP&L, 83 customers lost power, but it appears power was back on to most customers by 8 a.m.
A crew cut down parts of a tree that appeared to have fallen on the overhead wires along the east side of the roadway about 6 a.m. The road remains closed as crews make repairs in the area.
