Sevierville, TN : One dead, Four injured after fatal Sevier County crash on Dolly Parton Parkway

One person is dead and 4 people were injured after a fiery two-vehicle crash on Dolly Parton Parkway. Rebecca Gibson, 77, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The Sevier County Police Department says the crash happened at around 12:30 p.m. Sunday. According to Sevier County Police Officer Shawn Crawford, a 2007 Toyota pick-up truck, travelling West on Dolly Parton Parkway and attempted to turn left on New Riverside Drive. Crawford says the truck appeared to collide with a 2011 Ford SUV travelling East on Dolly Parton Parkway. Officers say the SUV caught fire as a result of the collision. The Sevier County Fire Department was able to quickly extinguish the fire and extract several victims. Gibson, who was sitting in the rear passenger seat died. The driver of the SUV, Eric Dadey, 55, and three passengers were transported to LeConte Medical Center for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the pick-up truck, Ricky Hurst, 54, was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with serious injuries.
