Three people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck in Catawba County Thursday morning.
Troopers with the North Carolina Highway Patrol said a SUV crossed over the center line on Startown Road near Newton and into the path of another car. The SUV and the second vehicle crashed head-on around 9:15 a.m. The SUV then flipped over several times and the driver was ejected.
The driver of the SUV was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries, troopers said.
A man and woman were in the second vehicle and were both taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Highway Patrol.
It is unclear whether speed or alcohol were factors in this crash.
There has been no information released on the extent of the SUV driver's injuries.
The road reopened after being shut down for more than an hour.
