Woman ejected in crash on I-24 in Davidson County

Traffic slowed on Interstate 24 Friday morning after a woman was ejected from her vehicle when it overturned in Davidson County.

The crash happened in westbound lanes at mile marker 56, near the Harding Place exit, around 5:50 a.m.

Officials told News 2 the woman is in critical condition. She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The cause of the crash has yet to be determined, but it appears she struck a light pole after leaving the roadway, causing her car to overturn.

Two lanes of westbound traffic are closed as crews work the scene.
