HOWARD COUNTY, MD : 1 person killed, 2 emergency personnel injured after vehicle crashes into Howard County ambulance on Sunday, 3rd December 2023

Howard County police are investigating after one person was killed during a crash in Laurel involving an ambulance.

On Sunday at approximately 10:57PM, a 2011 Hyundai Sonata was traveling south on Washington Boulevard when it struck a Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services ambulance.

Officials say that the ambulance was stationary with its rear yellow warning lights activated in the right turn lane for Country Meadows Lane.

The driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai, 36-year-old Ricardo Perez of Laurel, was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead.
