Glastonbury, CT : 7 died in traffic accidents over Thanksgiving weekend on Sunday, 29th November, 2020

Seven people were killed in traffic accidents over the long Thanksgiving weekend, including a Waterbury man killed Sunday on Route 2 in Glastonbury.

According to statistics compiled by state police, there were a total of 376 accidents investigated throughout the state between Wednesday and Sunday.

Of those accidents, 52 involved injuries and seven involved deaths. The deaths occurred in Glastonbury, Waterbury, Southbury, Clinton, and Pomfret.

According to state police report, Waterbury resident Juan Delvalle, 53, was killed Sunday evening in an accident near EXIT 10 on Route 2. Delvalle was merging onto the highway around 6:30 p.m. when he lost control and hit the guardrail, before crossing the highway and hitting a rock wall on the median, the report says.
