Sioux Falls, SD : Driver suffers serious injuries in single-vehicle crash on Highway 38, west of Sioux Falls on Thursday morning, July 21, 2016

One man has serious but non-life threatening injuries after his vehicle left the road and struck a two guardrails Thursday morning.

South Dakota Highway Patrol troopers responded to a one-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Highway 38 about five miles west of Sioux Falls.

The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle left the road and then struck a metal guardrail and a cement bridge rail, according to the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt.

He was taken to a local hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. Hartford Fire and Rescue and the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office assisted with the accident.
