Troy Township, OH : Man dead after losing control of car on curve on Monday afternoon, October 20, 2014

A Geauga County man is dead after a one vehicle crash in Troy Township Monday afternoon. According to the Chardon Post of the State Highway Patrol, Frank E. Samuel, 75, of Burton was northbound on Rapids Road just north of Stafford Road just after 1 p.m. Samuel's 2002 BMW M5 spun clockwise on a curve, went off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail. Samuel was pronounced dead at the scene by the Geauga County coroner. The crash remains under investigation. According to the Highway Patrol, alcohol does not appear to have played a role in the crash, and Samuels was wearing his seat belt. Rapids Road was closed for about two and a half hours while the crash was being investigated. The Geauga County Sheriff's Office and the Troy and Auburn Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
