I-90 accident hospitalizes Puyallup woman in Ellensburg Washington
A Puyallup woman was sent to Kittitas Valley Healthcare with injuries from an accident Friday night.Just before 7 p.m., Kaitlynn P. Peterson, 18, was driving a silver Buick Century east on Interstate 90 about 14 miles west of Ellensburg when she had to brake behind a slower vehicle in front of her, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Peterson lost control of the car, which left the roadway and rolled before coming to a rest in the median, according to a news release from State Patrol.
A passenger, Morgan Scoeille, a 18-year-old Lacey resident, was not injured. Peterson was treated and released, a hospital nurse supervisor said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, though authorities have determined that drugs or alcohol were involved and are seeking charges against Peterson for speeding and driving under the influence, according to the news release.
