Park Rapids, MN : One injured in Highway 34 accident on Monday, January, 8th 2018
Slick road conditions may have led to a two-vehicle accident east of Park Rapids which held up traffic for a short time Monday, Jan. 9 and one person suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol report, a Toyota Camry, driven by Megan Lynn Annexstad, 26, of Park Rapids was stopped to turn left onto Estate Drive when she was struck from behind by a Chevrolet Impala driven by Allen Patrick Knott, 58, of Akeley.
Both vehicles were traveling eastbound on Highway 34.
Knott suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to CHI St. Joseph's for care, the report stated. Annexstad had three children in her vehicle and no other injuries were reported. The accident occurred at 3:50 p.m. with snow and ice reported on the road at the time. All parties involved in the accident were reportedly wearing seatbelts.
Responding to the accident were the State Patrol, Hubbard County Sheriff's Office, North Memorial Ambulance, Hubbard First Response & Rescue, Park Rapids Fire Department and Park Rapids Police Department.
