Amity Township, PA : Berks County man injured when his motor scooter crashes into brick pillar on Route 662 on Thursday, 1st October, 2020

A Douglassville man was injured late Wednesday when the motor scooter he was riding crashed into a brick pillar at the end of a driveway in Amity Township, police said Thursday.

Gerald Gill, 49, was unresponsive when emergency responders arrived at the scene of the crash at Old Swede Road (Route 662) and Russell Avenue about 11 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Gill, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was taken to Reading Hospital by Southern Berks Ambulance.

Information on his medical condition was unavailable Thursday morning.

Police are continuing an investigation.
