SURRY, NH : A 27-year-old Vermont man is in critical condition after a crash on Sunday, July 2, 2017
A 27-year-old Vermont man is in critical condition after a crash on Route 12 over the weekend.
State police said the man was driving a Buick Century north on Route 12 in Surry when his vehicle left the road and struck multiple trees.
The car came to rest in the treeline facing south, heavily damaged.
Officials said the driver was pinned in the driver's seat and had to be removed from the car.
He was taken to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene before being transferred to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center due to the severity of his injuries.
The driver's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Police said the cause of the crash is still under investigation but that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
State police said charges, including aggravated driving while intoxicated, are forthcoming.
