Murfreesboro,TN : Driver injured in rollover crash on I-24 East in Rutherford County on June, Friday 16th 2017

A driver was injured in a rollover crash on Interstate 24 in Rutherford County overnight.

The man was driving eastbound near the exit for Highway 96 when he went off the road and went into an embankment.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Deputies with the Tennessee Highway Patrol are working to figure out what caused the driver to leave the road.

Two lanes remain blocked in the area as officials investigate the crash. TDOT estimates the crash may not be cleared until 5:30 a.m.
