Jones County, MS : Young man killed in one vehicle accident in Ovett Monday morning, September 12, 2016

A 21-year-old man lost his life after his vehicle collided into a tree Monday morning.

According to the Jones County Fire Council, units from Johnson and Ovett Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the accident on Three Mile Stretch and Augusta Road.

When units arrived firefighters found a heavily damaged pickup truck pinned against a group of trees.

According to reports, volunteers requested Ellisville Fire Department to assist with extrication of the victim.

Firefighters were able to free the victim, but the man was declared dead by Jones County Coroner Nancy Barnett.

The name of the victim has not been released at this time.
