Crystal River, FL : Citrus Springs woman killed in crash on Wednesday night, June 8, 2016
A Citrus Springs woman was killed Wednesday night after her SUV traveled in front of another car in the Citrus Springs area.
At about 9:27 p.m., 45-year-old Kimberly J. Andre of Citrus Springs and her 50-year-old passenger Keith B. Andre, also of Citrus Springs, were traveling west on North Country Club Way in a 1993 Toyota SUV approaching the intersection with U.S. 41 as Rebecca N. Osterhout, 70, of Inverness, was driving a 2011 Jeep SUV southbound on U.S. 41 approaching the same intersection, according to a Florida Highway Patrol preliminary accident report.
Kimberly Andre failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and traveled into the path of Osterhout’s SUV, which struck the Andres’ SUV.
Kimberly Andre, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the SUV. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP.
Keith Andre, who was also not wearing a seatbelt, sustained critical injuries and was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center. Osterhout was seriously injured and taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
