SPRING LAKE TWP, MI : Two hurt in early morning crash on Fruitport Road near Pinecrest Lane on Tuesday, 16th July 2019

Two people were injured in a one-car crash early Tuesday morning on Fruitport Road near Pinecrest Lane.The Spring Lake couple — a 37-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man — were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, according to Sgt. Jay Douglas of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. They were in stable condition when transported by ambulance to Hackley Hospital in Muskegon.

Emergency crews responded to the scene just after 2 a.m.

Douglas said that the woman was driving a 2003 Lexus SUV north on North Fruitport Road, failed to negotiate the curve, went off the road and hit a retaining wall next to the bike path.

Police said that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
