Chicago, IL : Teen critically injured in North Side wrong-way hit-and-run crash on Monday, 26th August 2019

Police were searching for a woman who drove the wrong direction on a one-way street on the Northwest Side, hit a teenager and drove off, leaving the boy critically injured Monday night.
Officers were called to the 4800 block of North Monticello Avenue in Albany Park about 6:30 p.m. Monday for a report of a hit-and-run, said Kellie Bartoli, a Chicago police spokeswoman. A 17-year-old boy had been walking on Monticello when a dark-colored SUV traveling south, the wrong direction on one-way Monticello, hit the teen.
“The victim was then dragged by the vehicle a short distance before it fled eastbound on Lawrence Avenue,” Bartoli wrote in an email.
The teen suffered injuries to the head, back and shoulders and was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, Bartoli said.
