Vallejo, CA : Pedestrian critically injured after hit by car on Thursday February 11 2016

Police in Vallejo are investigating a collision Thursday night that sent a pedestrian to the hospital in critical condition.
Officers responded at 10:35 p.m. to report of an injury collision near the intersection of Sonoma Boulevard and Arkansas Street involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Responding officers learned a pedestrian was walking east on Sonoma Boulevard just north of Arkansas Street with several other individuals when a GMC SUV struck him.
Police said it appears the pedestrian, a 51-year-old man from Vallejo, was crossing the street when he attempted to return to the sidewalk and was struck by the vehicle.
The driver of the GMC, a 23-year-old woman from Vallejo, stopped a short distance later and returned to the scene.
The pedestrian was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
