GREENFIELD, NY : Mechanicville man charged with DWI after crash sends 3 to hospital on Saturday, 24th September 2016

A Mechanicville man was arrested after an accident early Saturday morning, Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies said.

Seaver P. Higgins, 22, of Mechanicville was charged with driving while intoxicated after the accident, which occurred on Route 9N in town.

Deputies said an investigation revealed Higgins was driving his 2012 Jeep Liberty north on Route 9N when he exited the roadway. He struck several mailboxes, a utility pole, boulders, a fence and shrubs, deputies said. The Jeep overturned numerous times and came to rest against a building on Route 9N, deputies said.

Higgins was taken to Saratoga Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries where he was arrested, deputies said.

The other two people in the vehicle were both transported to Saratoga Hospital for evaluation and treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Higgins was issued appearance tickets returnable to Town Court at a later date.
