Ashburn, GA : Two injured in a two tractor trailer crash at Mile marker 82 northbound On Tuesday, June 14th, 2016
A wreck early Tuesday morning on Interstate 75 in Ashburn involving two tractor trailers resulted in two injuries.
Georgia State Patrol Trooper Jason Bland with Post 30 in Cordele said the accident occurred at 8 a.m. at mile marker 82 northbound.
Rodney Burkes, 26, of Atlanta, was traveling north in a N&H Trucking LLC tractor trailer when the front, right tire blew out and caused him to veer left and barely clip the back of a Crete Carrier Corporation tractor trailer, driven by John Daggs, 43, of
Nashville, Tennessee, that was in the right lane. Burkes' tractor trailer then struck the concrete median barrier.
Bland said Burkes and an adult passenger sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. Both were transported to a hospital. When asked about damages, he said the semi was totaled.
Bland said no charges will be filed due to the cause of the crash being a mechanical issue.
