WARWICK, RI : East Providence man faces DUI charge after Warwick crash injures 5 on Sunday, February 26th 2017
An East Providence man faces drunken-driving charges stemming from a head-on collision Sunday night that injured five people, including a two-year-old, the police said.
A car driving south on Warwick Avenue around 8:40 p.m. crossed the center line and crashed into a car heading north near North Country Club Drive, according to a news release from the Warwick police.
Two children were taken to Hasbro Childrens Hospital, including the two-year-old, who was treated for serious injuries. The other child is eight years old.
Three adults were taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, Justin Preston, 34, of East Providence, faces charges including driving under the influence resulting in serious bodily injury and driving on a suspended license, according to the Warwick police.
