CHAFFEE COUNTY, CO : 2 people rescued after crashing truck into Colorado river on Friday, 10th May 2024

Two people were rescued Friday from the roof of a pickup truck after crashing into the Arkansas River in Fremont County.
The crash happened off of Highway 50 in Bighorn Sheep Canyon east of Salida. The people inside the truck climbed to the roof of the truck and waited as rescuers from Fremont and Chaffee counties as well as Colorado Parks & Wildlife devised a plan on how to safely get them back on shore.
