A motorcyclist is dead after a crash Friday night along State Road 200 in Nassau County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened at 11:23 p.m. near Old Amelia Avenue.
The motorcyclist failed to negotiate the curve, causing the motorcycle to hit the concrete curb on the road's southern edge, troopers said. The motorcyclist lost control of the bike, which began to slide and tumble, and he was thrown off it.
Troopers said the motorcycle continued in a easterly direction until it hit an unoccupied vehicle in a car lot on the southern side of State Road 200. It then went back into the roadway, where it and the rider were found.
The motorcyclist was taken to Baptist Nassau Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, troopers said.
