Maryville, MO : Driver injured in car-truck collision on Wednesday, June 14, 2017
The driver of an eastbound Dodge Avenger, who police report was apparently trying to make an improper left turn at the intersection of East First and Vine streets in Maryville, suffered what appeared to be a head injury at approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision with a westbound International tanker truck owned by Consumers Oil Co.
Police at the scene identified the injured woman, who is not believed to have been wearing a seat belt, as Ashley Dawn Smith. She was transported by Nodaway County ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Maryville.
The truck driver, identified as Peter John Pannier, was not injured.
The Dodge sustained heavy damage to its front end, especially on the driver’s side, and had to be towed from the scene. The truck sustained what appeared to be moderate damage, mostly limited to the driver’s side front bumper.
