Ann Arbor, MI : Man dead, woman seriously injured after US 23 motorcycle crash on Saturday, June 11, 2016
A Westland man is dead and a Brighton woman is seriously injured after a motorcycle crash Saturday in Ann Arbor.
At 5:55 p.m. Saturday, June 11, Michigan State Police troopers responded to northbound U.S. 23 just north of Washtenaw Avenue for a single motorcycle crash.
Jamie Hicks, 50, was driving his 2016 Harley Davidson when he left the roadway and flipped several times in the median, according to MSP. He died at the scene.
Huron Valley Ambulance transported the 47-year-old passenger, Laura Hurn, to the University of Michigan hospital for multiple serious injuries, MSP reported.
Neither Hicks nor Hurn were wearing helmets.
Michigan State Police are investigating the crash and believe alcohol was a factor.
Ann Arbor Police, Ann Arbor Fire and HVA assisted at the scene.
