Peru, ME : Three young men seriously injured in Route 108 rollover in Peru on Tuesday, November 4, 2014
Police say three young men have been seriously injured in a violent car crash in Peru.
Oxford County Deputy Sheriff George Cayer says it appears as if speed and alcohol were factors in the crash just before 9 p.m. Tuesday that ripped the engine out of the car and spread debris about 300 feet.
One victim, 21-year-old Ryan Lemay, of Peru, was ejected.
The driver, 18-year-old Cody Blouin, of Peru, managed to get out of the wreckage himself.
Another passenger, 22-year-old Jesse Bates, of Rumford, was pinned inside and freed by firefighters.
All three were taken to a Lewiston hospital.
Cayer tells the Sun Journal the car was headed south on Route 108 when the driver lost control, went airborne and flipped end over end several times.
