Seymour, WI : 87-year-old Mineral Point woman killed in head-on collision on Highway 81 near Prairie Road on Monday afternoon, December 14, 2015

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office said an 87-year-old woman from Mineral Point died Monday afternoon following a head-on crash.

The incident happened just before 2 p.m. on Wisconsin Highway 81 near Prairie Road, a couple miles east of Belmont.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Rosette King was driving west on 81 when Chad Michael Ernzen, 38, of Durango, Iowa crossed the center line in his pickup and struck King’s car head-on.

King was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington, where she was pronounced dead.

Ernzen was taken by ambulance to Southwest Health Center in Platteville, then taken by Med Flight to UW Hospital in Madison with life-threatening injuries.
