La Grange, GA : 1 killed in interstate wreck on Monday, September 26, 2016

One woman was killed when her mini van hit a tractor-trailer on Interstate 185 just before 7 a.m. on Monday.

Lisa Marie Wingate, 38, of LaGrange died after her Kia Sedona struck the back of the semi while traveling in the southbound lanes of the interstate, according to a report by the Georgia State Patrol.

Wingate was directly behind the tractor-trailer in the right hand lane. She allegedly approached at a high rate of speed before slamming into the back of the semi, the GSP report states.

The victim was extricated from her van with the jaws of life and later died at an area hospital.
