Hopkinton, MA : Beverly man killed in Hopkinton crash on Thursday, 1st November 2018

On Wednesday evening, Oct. 31, at approximately 6:30 p.m., troopers from the State Police Barracks in Charlton responded to reports of a crash on I-90 eastbound, just prior to I-495 in Hopkinton.

Upon arrival, Trooper Donald McCabe discovered that a 2002 Jeep Liberty, driven by a 30-year-old man from Beverly crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer driven by a 42-year-old man from Quebec, Canada.

The Beverly man was extricated from the Jeep by Hopkinton Firefighters. He was determined to be deceased as a result of injuries sustained from the crash. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

The right lane was closed during the crash investigation to allow for reconstruction to take place.

The remaining facts and circumstances remain under investigation by troopers from the Charlton Barracks. Troop C Headquarters, State Police Crime Scene Services Section (CSSS), State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section (CARS), State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Section (CMVES), Hopkinton Fire Department, Massachusetts Office of Chief Medical Examiner and Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MADOT) all assisted on scene.
