Waxahachie, TX : One person injured in 2 vehicle accident Monday afternoon, December 19, 2016
One person was transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident that included a rollover Monday afternoon. First responders were dispatched at about 3 p.m. to northbound Interstate Highway 35E between the Farm-to-Market Road 66 and 1446 bridges.
The accident caused a partial closure to I-35 N for approximately 30-45 minutes.
"There were two vehicles traveling north. This gold Honda and there was this silver Ford SUV. Traffic started choking up. The SUV stopped. He [the Honda driver] looked up, and cars were stopping and tried to get over to the right lane and clipped him [the Ford SUV] in the back," Waxahachie Police Officer Kevin Patterson said. "It spun him, and he hit the wall and rolled it. The Honda clipped the SUV."
Patterson said the passenger of the SUV, an older man, was transported by AMR ground ambulance to Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Waxahachie as a precautionary measure to be checked out by medical personnel. Units cleared the scene at about 3:45 p.m and the highway was reopened.
