Elk Creek, NE : Two men injured in I-80 accident early Friday morning, August 19, 2016

Two Lexington men were injured when they were ejected from their vehicle in an accident on Interstate 80 early Friday morning.

According to the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, at 3:12 a.m., Christopher Lange, 30, of Lexington was driving west on I-80 in a gray 2005 Chevy Silverado two miles west of the Elm Creek interchange when his vehicle went off the road way and into the median and rolled once. The truck landed on the shoulder of the eastbound lane where it then caught on fire.

Lange and his passenger, Sherman Neal Behymer, 32, of Lexington both were ejected from the vehicle and transported to CHI Good Samaritan Health in Kearney by Overton Volunteer Rescue.

Lange was listed in serious condition and Behymer was listed in fair condition Friday afternoon, according to Anna Freyda of Good Sam internal communications.

Alcohol use is being investigated as a factor in the crash.
