Terre Haute, IN : Man injured in motorcycle crash on Interstate 70 Friday, September 9, 2016
A Terre Haute man was injured when a car rear-ended the motorcycle he was driving on Interstate 70 Friday, police said.
Indiana State Police said a 2012 Chevrolet sedan driven by Anthony D. Tabb, 23, of Indianapolis, was going east on Interstate 70 in Putnam County when it hit a 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Brandon J. McCracken, 24, of Terre Haute.
After the collision, the car continued on for approximately 1 1/2 miles before crash damage caused the vehicle to stop.
McCracken, who had a helmet on, was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for treatment of internal injuries that were believed to be serious, police said.
Tabb was not injured, but was cited for leaving the scene of a crash, no insurance, driving while suspended, and reckless driving. Tabb may have disregarded a medical condition warning prohibiting him from driving which was a contributing factor in the crash, ISP said.
The accident happened at 5:00 p.m. Friday. Indiana State Police and Putnam County emergency agencies responded to the accident.
