Emporia, KS : No serious injuries reported in rural Lyon County accident Saturday, March 4, 2017
No serious injuries were sustained by a driver and his passenger in a one-vehicle accident reported at 1:26 p.m. Saturday in rural Lyon County.
According to Lyon County Deputy Kevin Lee, 20-year-old Devin Andrews of Hartford was driving a 2003 Honda Civic northbound in the 900 block of Road Z when he failed to navigate the corner, lost control of the vehicle and slid sideways into a tree.
Andrews complained of head pain at the scene but sustained non-life threatening injuries. He was transported by private vehicle to Coffey County Hospital in Burlington.
A 16-year-old female, who was a passenger in the car, was transported by Lyon County ambulance to Coffey County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to Lee, both the driver and passenger were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
Lyon County sheriffs deputies, fire personnel from Hartford and crews from Emporia-Lyon County ambulance responded to the accident.
