Los Angeles County sheriff's officials say a motorcycle deputy was injured when he crashed in the Pacific Palisades area.

A sheriff's dispatcher says the crash occurred about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday on Topanga Canyon Boulevard north of Pacific Coast Highway.

The injured deputy was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.

The California Highway Patrol says Topanga Canyon Boulevard is expected to be closed for several hours between PCH and Grandview Drive during the investigation.
